How did you find London compared to what you were expecting?
I imagined that this experience would be fun but challenging, and so far it has been. This is my first time in London and when I first got here it was exciting to see firsthand all of the sights of London that you know from books and movies (& it still is). Eventually, after a week or so, the reality of this big move sets in and you have to face the challenges of finding a job and home to support your London dream. BritBound then comes in and helps ease you into things logistically. As well, they introduce you to like minded individuals, who also want to work, travel and try new things. This also helps reassure you that although moving here was a big decision it was definitely a good one.

What is the achievement you're most proud of since moving to the UK?
Since moving here I am proud of everything to be honest. I moved to a foreign country only kind of knowing a handful of people and have been able to make new friends, find a job, find a place to live and already seen so many things, all in a short amount of time.

What is a moment you will always remember from your time abroad?
From my short time here, I will remember the personal sense of contentment when I "survived" my first major holiday (Easter) away from my family. Most holidays are a big family thing at home, but I was glad to be able to spend the day with my housemates here and have a nice holiday with them instead.

How has your experience abroad changed your outlook on the world?
I've only been here for just over two months now, so I know that both myself as a person and my outlook on things are still changing. Since moving here I've so far realized that London (and all that encompasses London) is much larger than I imagined; as well, there are a lot of good people and good in the world. Bad things happen, but if you ask for help you will get it.

What would you say to someone who's thinking about moving to the UK with BritBound?
If you're thinking of moving here to live and work, I say do it! Just apply for the visa, book your flight and take the plunge! The BritBound office and online community is definitely here to help with no matter the situation... housing, job, social. Someone is always around to help out and lend an ear or hand. In the end, if you give it a chance and decide the plunge is too deep then you can always say you gave it a try, but that is important that you gave it a try, because otherwise you would always be left wondering.
